The PolArt 2010 exhibition is the result of a unique cooperation between the Arctic marine scientific network ARCTOS and two art institutions in Tromsø, Troms County Culture Centre (Kysten) and the Tromsø Art Association (Kunstforeningen). 4 young scientists are invited along on marine scientific cruises to the Arctic in summer, and their impressions and ideas developed into an art exhibition which is held in Tromsø in January, in connection with the Arctic Frontiers Conference. The two Norwegian artists Torill Johannesen and Thomas Østbye was on board the "R/V Jan Mayen" during the ATP cruise in Svalbard waters in June 2009.
The exhibition can be seen at Tromsø Kunstforening until 7 March 2010.
