picture 1The first annual meeting of ATP took place in Copenhagen, March 8-10 2010.

The venue with > 40 participants from all partners was organized at “Trekanen”, a meeting place of the town government of Copenhagen which was given free of charge to ATP through the local organizer, Dorte Krause-Jensen. The meeting was a full success, comprising on overviews from the work packages, research highlights, group discussions and presentations on future challenges, deliveries and meeting (see programme). Also the steering committee of ATP met and the ATP management team had a meeting with advisory board.

Picture_2Much of the time was used to obtain the best possible overview in plenum and for a better integration of the project. To this end particular emphasis was given to discussions around a better integration between WP 2 and WP 3 and, in particular, WP 4 and WP 5. There will be a specific meeting for WP 4 and 5 and the ATP management team on Mallorca on November 24-25 2010.

Picture_3ATP will, in coordination with the ARCTOS network (www.arctosresearch.net), organise the international conference “The Arctic in the Earth System perspective: the role of tipping points”. The conference is part of the annual Arctic Frontiers conference (www.arctic-frontiers.com), 26-28 January 2011 and takes place in Tromsø, Norway. The second annual ATP conference will take place directly after Arctic Frontiers, 29/1 to 1/2.
